At Thrive, every child is valued, celebrated and supported for who they are. We welcome children aged 4–11 with identified communication and interaction needs who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), offering a safe and nurturing place where they can grow and develop in confidence and independence.

Children learn in small classes with specialist teachers and skilled teaching assistants who know them well. Each child follows an individual curriculum that is designed around their strengths and interests, helping them to develop communication, friendships, learning, independence and wellbeing.

At Thrive, we support every child to develop the skills that matter most for life – helping them to succeed in learning, grow in confidence, build connections with others and feel prepared for the future.

 

                           

 

🏫 Our Provision

  • Two small classes: Thrive 1 and Thrive 2 (up to 12 children each)

  • Each class led by a specialist teacher and supported by two skilled teaching assistants

  • Individualised support so every child is seen, valued and celebrated

     

       

 

                                                                    

 

📚 Our Curriculum

Children enjoy a rich timetable of tailored learning, including:

  • Maths & English (Equals Curriculum)

  • Phonics (Sound Train programme)

  • Attention Autism (Bucket Therapy)

  • Core Word of the Week

  • Speech & language therapy sessions

  • Fine and gross motor skills activities

  • Sensory breaks and circuits

  • PE, music, art, outdoor learning & active learning

  • Social communication programmes: Social Stories™, Lego Therapy, Brick by Brick, Zones of Regulation

This approach helps children build independence, practise skills in different contexts, and celebrate progress at their own pace.

  • Weekly sessions with our Speech & Language Therapist (Liverpool Speech Therapy)

  • Staff highly trained in autism, SLCN, sensory regulation, and trauma-responsive practice

  • Ongoing professional training in neurodiversity, communication strategies, and positive behaviour support

  • Close links with occupational therapists, educational psychologists, and mental health practitioners

 

 

🤝 Inclusion & Community

Thrive is part of the wider school. Where appropriate, children access mainstream lessons and activities, keeping strong links with peers. Some follow a hybrid model, combining Thrive and mainstream learning in a way that works best for them.
